The Brownstoners of Bedford Stuyvesant, Inc invite you to our first annual scholarship fundraiser at the Therapy Wine Bar on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 5-8pm. Come out to meet and greet fellow alumni from the ‘90s and 2000’s who live down the street or a few blocks away from you. Wear your colors and rep your college affiliation. Let’s create that Black College family feeling right here in Bedford-Stuyvesant. If you did not attend an HBCU, please join us and share your experience!!!!! All neighbors are invited!!!!

Our location, Therapy Wine Bar 2.0, located at 260 Malcolm X Blvd, at the corner of Halsey St, is owned by Bedford-Stuyvesant neighbors, Angela Terry & Anthony Williams. We are happy to celebrate the first-year anniversary of its Grand Opening. The event will take place on Small Business Saturday, so it will also be an opportunity to learn more about the local businesses to support. Angela is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

The Brownstoners have presented its Annual House Tour in Bedford Stuyvesant for 44 years. Once an opportunity for 600-800 visitors to tour neighborhood homes in person, we have had to pivot during the pandemic and offer the tour virtually. Our current video includes a walking tour of five magnificent homes and interviews with the homeowners about their homeownership and renovation experiences. The residences of Howard University Alumnae Monique Greenwood and Shayla Mulzac are among those featured this year. If you are an aspiring homeowner or are someone who may inherit a family home in the future, join us to watch an excerpt of the video and talk to some of our local homeowners about making your dreams come true.

Your ticket will support so many!!!! Your $30 contribution will include one non-alcoholic or alcoholic beverage and a link to the House Tour Video until December 11, 2022 to watch at your leisure. We will support local business owners and enjoy an amazing new gathering and event space offering a full bar and food menu. There is an automatic Eventbrite ticket purchase fee of $2.17 added.

A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Bernard McDonald/George Glee Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund which provides awards annually to students at Boys and Girls High School who enroll at a Historically Black College or University. The Brownstoners have awarded over $100,000 in scholarships to Boys and Girls High School college bound graduates.
