Join the NYC Department of Veterans' Services, NYC Charter Revision Commission, FDNY & NYPD American Legion Posts, FDNY VFW, Marine Corps League, the NYC Veterans Alliance, and special guests at the historic New York City Fire Museum for an evening of community conversation about how this year's revision of the City Charter can improve the lives of veterans and their families in the months and years to come.
The Charter Revision Commission is charged with reviewing the entire Charter of the City of New York, holding hearings in all five boroughs in the spring and summer of 2018 to solicit public input, and issuing a report outlining findings and recommendations to amend or revise the Charter. This forum is an opportunity for veterans and families in NYC to let the Commission hear our concerns, ideas, and input. The Commission also invites public comments on their online portal HERE.
Light refreshments will be served. Attendees will have the opportunity to view exhibits at the Fire Museum and interact with staff from the host organizations.
