This month MYD is proud to unveil its brand new policy platform and we can think of no better way to celebrate than by discussing progressive issues with our members! After a divided primary election, this is a great opportunity to come together and root ourselves not in party politics but in the issues we stand for as Young Democrats. As election season comes to a close, let's think about how we then take those issues we stand for and translate them into impact in preparation for the hard work of governing ahead.
This event will be a dialogue between you (our members), our task force chairs who are all incredibly talented activists and experts in their chosen fields, as well as the Executive Directors of the two biggest caucuses across New York City and New York State legislative branches. Don't know what that means? That's ok! This event is going to be a primer on how things get done at the City and State level!
Special Guests Include:
Task Force Chairs:
KT Sagona - Gender Equity Task Force
Natasha Herrick - Affordable Living Task Force
Jordan Stein - Election Reform Task Force
Legislative Executive Directors:
Kyle Ishmael - Executive Director of the New York State Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic, and Asian Legislative Caucus
Corey Ortega - Executive Director of the New York City Council Black, Latino, and Asian Caucus
