Please join John Battelle, Co-founder and CEO of NewCo, for a lunch discussion on the evolving journey of technology companies.

During the discussion, John will analyze in depth the role of data, technology and public policy in driving the success of Amazon, Facebook, Google and Apple. Other topics include emerging trends and challenges in the field, as well as opportunities for the Columbia community. There will be a Q&A followed by networking time. Best known for his work creating media properties, John founded Federated Media Publishing and served as CEO and Chair until 2014. John was also the Co-Founder, Executive Producer and Program Chair of the Web 2 Summit, the Chairman and CEO of Standard Media International (SMI), publisher of The Industry Standard and, and Co-Founding Editor of Wired magazine and Wired Ventures. His book The Search: How Google and Its Rivals Rewrote the Rules of Business and Transformed Our Culture is an international best-seller. In Spring 2019, John will join SIPA as an adjunct professor and a senior research fellow.
