Building Co-Conspiratorship: A MTF working group to dismantle white supremacy in musical theatre

We believe that white supremacy needs to be dismantled. This working group is meant for white artists to take on the work towards collective liberation in an intentional space free from further burdening, traumatizing, or repressing those already oppressed by whiteness. Through guided prompts and breakout rooms for small group discussion, this two session working group asks white artists to recognize and dismantle racist practices. Session one will unpack white supremacist practices while session two will develop personal actionable steps for a more equitable future.
BIPOC artists are welcome! The framing of this space is to take the burden of education off of our BIPOC community, who lead and educate continually. We know that the work of collective liberation must be done in connection with leadership of communities of color. This space is connected and accountable to all who participate and lead racial justice work at MTF.
