Beds Not Bodybags: Queens Needs Hospitals

Rise and Resist

Date: Aug 14th

Join Rise and Resist for an action in front of Elmhurst Hospital in Queens. Queens County, one of the nation's most diverse counties, has the lowest number of of hospital beds per capita of any county in the nation that has a hospital in the county. Queens was the epicenter of the first wave of the COVID crisis and the lack of hospital beds caused countless deaths. We call on Governor Cuomo, who is from Queens, to intervene.

Queens demands budget justice and healthcare justice. Queens needs hospitals.
We ask everyone joining us to wear a mask and to maintain social distancing. We will bring a banner that states: "Beds Not Bodybags: Queens Needs Hospitals".
The nearest subway stop is 74th St./Roosevelt Ave. on the #7, E, F, M, and R lines. The station is accessible.
