About the Davis Center:
Opened in April 2025, the Davis Center at the Harlem Meer blends seamlessly into Central Park’s north end, reconnecting the community with nature and restoring access to the landscape that was once obstructed. Central Park Conservancy Landscape architects, in collaboration with Susan T. Rodriguez Architecture – Design and Mitchell Guirgola, have designed the integrated landscape and state-of-the-art facility to reflect the park vistors’ priorities and the spirit of Central Park’s original purpose. The new Davis Center, which replaced the Lasker Pool and Rink, invites year-round expanded recreational and leisure activities and offers more ways for the community to enjoy this diverse and beautiful naturalistic setting in the heart of New York.
The fully accessible Davis Center provides unhindered access across the north end of the Park––a reconnected watercourse and new boardwalk that invites visitors to explore the Meer’s shoreline and freshwater marsh, offering an immersive experience in this restored landscape’s beauty and ecological diversity.
