When: January 12th

With a major victory for working families just announced in the Universal Childcare for New York announcement our movement has real momentum, and it’s time to come together to reflect, learn, and organize around what comes next. At our next Staten Island DSA meeting members will report back on their canvassing and advocacy that helped build pressure for the universal childcare plan announced by Governor Hochul and Mayor Mamdani, we’ll hold a condensed political education discussion on Venezuela since the Bolivarian Revolution and its relationship to the U.S. empire under Chávez and Maduro, and we’ll collectively process the murder of a legal observer attempting to protect her undocumented neighbors in Minnesota this week while discussing how we can better protect ourselves and our communities going forward.

When: Monday, January 12th (please arrive by 6:45pm, we’ll begin promptly at 7:00pm)
Where: Unitarian Church of Staten Island
312 Fillmore St (please use the side door)

This meeting is about celebrating our victory, but also building shared analysis and strengthening the solidarity we need to keep each other safe. Our power grows when we show up for one another, especially in moments like this.

See you Monday night!
