Black Panthers (1968, dir. Agnes Varda) is a short documentary focusing on the Black Panther Party in Oakland, California during protests over the arrest of Black Panther co-founder Huey P. Newton.

Riotsville, U.S.A. (2022, dir. Sierra Pettengill) is a feature-length documentary on the dialectics of repression and resistance, focusing on the mounting militant street movement and the increasing militarization of the police during the late-1960s. Using archival footage of Army-built model towns called “Riotsvilles” where military and police were trained to respond to civil disorder, the film connects the stagecraft of “law and order” to the real violence of state practice.
