Join the Electoral Working Group on January 14th for our FINAL Congressional endorsement forum.

We will be considering candidates for Congressional District 7, which is in the heart of the “Commie Corridor,” and all eyes are on NYC-DSA now that trailblazing Rep. Nydia Velázquez has announced her retirement. We’ve got two candidates competing for our endorsement, Assemblymember Claire Valdez and Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso.

We will also be considering Samantha Kattan for AD37, currently represented by SIO Claire Valdez.

These forums, and the conversations you’ll have with comrades before, during, and after, are the essence of popular democracy. Coming off a banner year for our electoral project where we were able to redefine our political terrain by electing a socialist for mayor of New York City, 2026 holds some truly fantastic possibilities to grow our movement and continue defeating the corporate elite by electing working-class champions to lead the fight against Trumpism in DC. The location for the congressional forum will be sent out 48 hours before the event. This meeting will also be accessible via Zoom. In order to be eligible to vote for candidates considered at this forum, you must RSVP before 5 PM the day of the forum. This event is closed to the press.

Electoral Working Group members are only eligible to vote if they have been a member of NYC-DSA since November and have taken at least one electoral action in that last two years (such events include participating in a canvass, phonebanking, or EWG meeting).
