Assembly District 65 incumbent Grace Lee leaving her seat open to run for State Senate, NYC-DSA is considering whether to endorse a candidate to run for the assembly seat. This forum is an opportunity to hear from the potential candidate(s) and discuss whether our chapter wants to pursue a campaign in a district that includes East Village, Chinatown and the Lower East Side.
The address for the state forum will be sent out 24 hours before the event and will be accessible via Zoom. In order to be eligible to vote for candidates considered at this forum, you must RSVP before 5 PM the day of the forum. This event is closed to the press.
This forum will be co-hosted with the LowMan branch and will serve as the branch’s endorsement forum, with the branch vote held simultaneously with the EWG vote.
Electoral Working Group members are only eligible to vote if they have been a member of NYC-DSA since 12/4/25 and have taken at least one electoral action in that last two years (such events include participating in a canvass, phonebanking, or EWG meeting).
