Join us for our first session discussing the highly praised yet highly controversial Settlers by J Sakai. This book retells American History in a way that confronts traditional narratives. Instead of liberty and equality, Settlers posits that America was founded as a deeply violent, racist, capitalist system called Settler-Colonialism. We will be discussing the first four chapters of the book, which outline the birth of this system.
Assigned Reading: Chapters 1-4 of Settlers
