Gender-Affirming Care Phone Zap

Join the NYC-DSA's Trans Rights & Bodily Autonomy Working Group as we fight to keep Gender-Affirming Care (GAC) in the state budget. State Senator Kristen Gonzalez's S7924/A8841 will publicly fund GAC—a critical step as NYC private choosing profits over patients and disrupting care for trans youth.

This life-saving support has been included in both the senate and assembly annual budget proposals, but under pressure from wealthy donors, it's at risk from being cut. Join us for a phone zap where we'll call and email our state representatives and demand they hold the line.

We're so close to winning funding that will not only ensure trans youth can access life-saving care, but bring us one step closer to GAC for all and ultimately, universal health care! DSA organizers will provide everything you need to contact you representatives and make the case for care. Come for the whole hour or attend as much as you can—every call and email is critical as we head into final budget negotiations. With a budget extender likely to continuue negotiations past the 4/1 deadline, it's time to keep the pressure on.
