NYC-DSA's Citywide Political Education Committee is piloting a NEW series of foundational socialist modules!

The first of these three modules is What is Capitalism? In this module, students will develop an understanding of capitalism as a system of class relations, learning concepts like class, exploitation, market dependence, and the role of the state under capitalism, and connect all these concepts to their personal experiences as workers and organizers.
We ask that all participants read through the reading packet prior to the class. We also ask that you submit a brief [250 word] memo to the course google drive concisely summarizing key takeaways from that week’s readings, and any questions they’d like to prepare for that week's discussion. A sample memo can be found here.
