As we campaign for the establishment of a Social Housing Development Authority in New York State, how should we think about the role of design? Join House the Future members Adare Brown, Daniel Jonas Roche, and Maggie Musante for presentations on the past and future of architecture and social housing. The conversation will explore why design matters differently for a public developer, whose buildings are built at scale, owned long-term, and funded with public money, and how design shapes the maintenance, performance, and everyday experience of housing. Presentations will be followed by an open discussion on our hopes and dreams for design under a public developer.
