NYC DSA Soccer is honored to host and play the UN Mission of Cuba!

We stand in solidarity with the Cuban people and oppose the decades-long U.S. embargo that continues to impact millions in Cuba and throughout the diaspora. We also reject ongoing efforts to further tighten restrictions and harm the Cuban people.

The day will begin with remarks from the UN Mission of Cuba and other guest speakers from 2:30–3:30 PM at the NYC-DSA office. Afterward, we'll walk together to Sara D. Roosevelt Park (about an 8-minute walk) for a friendly solidarity match between NYC-DSA and the UN Mission of Cuba from 4:00–5:00 PM.

This event is also a fundraiser for the DSA Venceremos Fund, a grassroots initiative that helps provide medical supplies to Cuba. Donations can be made at the event or online:
https://act.dsausa.org/donate/venceremos_fund/

We'll also be collecting soccer equipment to send to Cuba. Please bring items in usable condition. Needed donations include:
  • Jerseys
  • Soccer socks
  • Shorts, pants, and leggings
  • Goalkeeper gloves
  • Soccer cleats, turf shoes, or indoor shoes
  • Deflated soccer balls
  • Ball pumps and needles
  • Pinnies
  • Shin guards
  • Training cones
Men's, women's, and unisex items are all welcome.

We hope you'll join us for an afternoon of solidarity, community, and soccer!
