Overview

This training will share crucial information about how best to support affected community seeking to comply with immigration law by attending court appointments. This will include best practices for accompaniment, basic legal advice for folks representing themselves in immigration court, and additional legal, logistical, and interpersonal considerations which are key components of this work.

This training is regularly updated in consultation with a coalition of organizations providing on the ground support at immigration courts. Attendees will be offered some ways to plug into existing Court Watching Coalition work.

Instructions and Parameters to Join Us

Please login to zoom with your first and last initial so that we can check your name off of the RSVP list. We'll message you in zoom if you don't do this and remove you after the 30 minutes if we can't get this sorted out. We also request that you join with your camera on for at least part of the session for security purposes. If this will be a challenge, please reach out to us beforehand.

If you are a journalist attending in your own personal capacity, you are welcome to join us, but we emphasize —any journalists who join us are agreeing to attend in a personal capacity and not write about our work or anything that takes place in our meetings without our explicit, written consent.
