WRITING CIRCLE AT UNITED KAVA GOES VIRTUAL

Message Nicollette Kalliagas Barsamian if you want to know where we will privately be meeting virtually until our next public Writing Circle at United Kava at some point after the COVID-19 curve flattens. Polish up those pieces, and we look forward to seeing you IRL soon enough!

Come share your writing and get feedback! Warm up your creativity and get inspired by hearing other peoples' work. Bring your work or see where our writing prompts take you!

The focus of the group will be on women- and non-binary-identified folks (of any gender presentation!), but everyone is welcome and all genres are appreciated!

Dust off your poetry, memoir, and short fiction or bring parts of longer works. Bonus points for referencing Octavia Butler.

Hang after the circle - the kitchen closes at midnight, United Kava runs until 3am and 895 Bar offers pool tables and free video games!

Hosted by Nico! First hour, we write. Second hour, we read and workshop.

United Kava is a pop-up kava bar that resides at 895 Bar on every Tuesday from 7pm to 3am and Caffeine Underground every Thursday night from 8pm - 2am. It is a worker led venture seeking to establish a practical model for equitable workers' rights within the service industry.

At United Kava, workers can bargain over their wages, scheduling, and code of conduct. Patrons can know workers are operating free of fear and are empowered to address their workspace.

Kava can bridge the divide between humans and bring people together. We are fostering an environment that is a sanctuary for workers and patrons alike.
