2022 Dignity, Community and Power Awards Gala

Make the Road New York

Date: Oct 19th

Our Dignity, Community and Power Awards Gala is only one month away, and we are excited to announce our newest honorees: Jumaane D. Williams, New York City Public Advocate, and Ana María Archila, national movement leader!
For the last two decades, Jumaane has been an ally and partner in our fights for justice. In every role, from community organizer to NYC Public Advocate, he has stayed grounded in centering the needs and voices of working class communities of color.
Ana María’s own contributions have grown in scale over the past 25 years. From leading our organization out of a cramped office in Jackson Heights to leading movements for justice across the country, she has fostered the leadership of so many organizers and moved us to take action with her passion and willingness to take risks.
Through Jumaane and Ana María’s run for statewide office, their grassroots campaign centered the demands of working class New Yorkers. They ensured that our fights for affordable housing, safety, well funded schools and fair working conditions would be central in that race and held state leaders accountable to taking action.
We can’t wait to celebrate with these inspiring leaders, and with you, on October 19th at Versa in Midtown Manhattan!
