The Flatiron NoMad Partnership provides free, year-round historic walking tours of the district every Sunday, led by professional guides. On December 3, 10, and 17, the Flatiron NoMad Partnership will hold special holiday-themed walking tours. During this special holiday tour, attendees will learn about the Star of Hope, the country’s first public Christmas tree lighting, the international toy and gift center, and Dr. Clement Clarke Moore writing his famous Christmas poem "A Visit From St. Nicholas" (commonly known as “The Night Before Christmas”) in his country home on 23rd Street in 1822. Tours start at 11:00 a.m. at the tip of the Flatiron building at 23rd Street just east of Fifth Avenue. No advance registration is required. The holiday-themed walking tours are part of Winter Glow, the Flatiron NoMad Partnership’s new series of free, festive pop-up programming across the neighborhood. Visit flatironnomad.nyc/winter-glow for details.
